What kind of bag for the rain?

Coated canvas? Vinyl? Nylon? Patent leather?

Here are some bags I own, and some I want to buy.

Chanel (I own this, it’s coated canvas type fabric, I have taken it in the rain before without a problem):

Prada: (Nylon)

Chanel: (vinyl)

Also, does patent leather hold up in the rain?
I want these shoes..by Tory Burch…

Sorry I know it is a lot of links and I’m not Level 2 yet so i can’t make them clickable.

I’m going on a trip to England and need stuff that can be worn in the rain…..

Thanks…

Also I know the bags I own/want are expensive but I only buy higher end because they last a lot longer and I want to take a bag that I will actually wear in the sun too…like not just on vacation…

Just for fun: Guess the breeds.?

This is Alyssum, my new ‘foster’ dog. These pictures are almost a month old. She’s much less timid now.

Don’t let the photos fool you. This dog has LOOOOONG legs. She’s 11 pounds, and almost as tall as my sister-in-laws 25 pound dog. She’s 7 months old in the photos, and that is her badly ‘trimmed’ to remove the burrs and foxtails from her fur. She has a long tail that, when she’s happy, she holds in the most amazing circle over her back. Looks like someone stuck a hula-hoop to her butt. :P She has a white patch on her chin, and that white left leg has orange speckling all through it. Her hair is really fine, and single coated. We shaved her all the way shortly after these pictures, and the shortened hair is wavy and full of whorls. Very strange. She also has an underbite, and the leather of her ears is much shorter than it appears in the photos.

“Equal”… that was the oldest lamest and completely non-working-for-this-question dog breed joke. Please equip your wits and try again later.

How to make the soles of ballet shoes stronger?

I really want a pair of leather ballet shoes. Real ones. I just love the way they look and they remind me of the Vibram Five Finger shoes- the whole idea of walking basically barefoot and how it’s supposed to be good for your body. Anyway, I realize they’re not made for walking outside and I realize they would probably wear through faster than normal shoes would anyway (hey, they are $20…not too big a deal) but I was still trying to think of ways to strengthen the soles so they would last longer. Has anyone ever tried this? Painting something on the bottom perhaps? I was even thinking a coat of something like a varnish might help although I don’t want them too slippery. Any ideas?

How would you summarize this?

Clothing and personal appearance also communicate nonverbal messages. In fact, people use your clothing and appearance to determine your status, credibility, and persuasiveness (Benson et al., 1975; Knapp & Hall, 2002; Michelsen, 1993). Businesses and professions have learned from experience that the public’s perception of their organization depends in part on the appearance and dress of their personnel. For this reason many companies require uniforms and most others have a dress code. UPS, Bank One, and Sears are just a few of the companies that specify the career apparel employees can wear (Jones, 2003; Merx, 2003). Even the Mayo clinic requires business attire in place of casual dress or white coats for its more than 2,800 staff physicians except when they are in surgical scrubs (Berry & Bendapudi, 2003). Even the White House under President Barack Obama’s leadership is moving from traditional business dress to a more casual approach (Stolberg, 2009).
Your company may be like IBM and many others that have relaxed their strict business dress codes and now allow employees to dress in a business casual manner. But you may be as confused as others about what business casual really means. Image consultant Sherry Maysonave (1999) calls this confusion casual confusion syndrome (CCS) and says that it leads to people wearing inappropriate casual attire. “The business-casual trend has created entire companies of people who are unsure of what to put on in the morning,” says Christina Binkley in an article for the Wall Street Journal (2008, D1). She notes that in most cases, business casual is more formal than “casual” and does not include jeans, shorts, t-shirts, or halter-tops. Maysonave (199, p. 79) offers these business casual basics: dark colors (for contrast mix with a white or light-hue blouse or shirt); simple, classic lines; long sleeves and quality fabrics; high-quality shoes in immaculate condition—all-leather tie shoes for men and classic closed-toes with moderate heels for women; clean, shiny hair, professionally cut; and simple, high-quality jewelry kept to a minimum. According to New York psychologist Jon-Scott Turco, you may be judged more when wearing business casual than when wearing traditional business attire because people “assume they’re seeing the real person” (Binkley, 2008, p. D1).

Will you read and critique my short fantasy/magic story?

I am role-playing as Trumpkin the dwarf from the Narnia series, and this is about him getting into our world. I totally made this up on a whim. Also, I’m 13. :) So tell me if you like it, and critique it please!

“Trumpkin…” Said an airy, feminine whisper from the wood behind me. Spinning around, I see the copper and deep green leaves floating about the air. “Come…” they said, still whispering. After I set down my small hammer, I stepped quietly into the wood, not one other dwarf noticed. The petals lead me to a dark, foggy part of the wood. They were advancing, I could only keep up by running. They led me further and further, until I questioned “Where are you taking me, and why does it have to be so dark?” They slowed for a moment, swirling back and all around me, they whispered “Trust me…” But then they rushed out into the other trees, becoming no more than leaves.

“Trumpkin.” a deep, earthy voice softly spoke a few meters away. “W-what’s all this about?” I said, looking around for the powerful voice. “Come.” it said. “Oh you’ve got to be kidding me.” I heard a soft growl, which clearly meant for me to listen… and stop being so dreadful. “Walk by faith, not by sight.” It said wisely. Forgetting about sight completely, I followed the direction the voice was leading. I heard heavy, thudding steps next to me. Whatever this was had four soft feet… or paws.

“Stop.” it told me. I immediately stopped walking. “Do not speak.” It said, the moment I had been beginning to ask where we were to go. I looked all round me, when I heard a powerful and majestic roar. One that shook the earth, one that rustled the leaves. One that made it clear it was Aslan walking with me all of the time. I was in the middle of bowing when the trees next to me conjoined, big furry coats came down from seemingly nowhere, hanging from their branches. The trees enclosed around me, a stable of coats it seemed like it was.

“Crows and crockery!” I realized this was a wardrobe. Pushing through the coats towards the crack of grey daylight (Of which I haven’t seen in so long!) I tripped over a pair of big leather shoes, tumbling out of the wardrobe into an… attic?*
